So what’s happening in the world of me right now?
Well one major thing I somehow managed to omit from my last post, was the addition to our family.
Now that’s got Paul and Phil paying attention, it’s actually a new cat
An 11 month old jet black girl that we’ve named Suki. We got her from the local Animal Rescue Centre, after she’d spent over two months there, with just a small pod and cage to roam about it. It’s been nearly two weeks now since she’s been home with us and things are going well, although I haven’t seen such a timid cat in years! The picture above isn’t the best and was taken a few days after coming home, but gives you an idea.
Put it this way, she spent the whole first three days hiding underneath the spare bed in ‘her room’ (one of the spare bedrooms we thought we’d use). Normally I’d be worrid about this kind of behaviour but given that the Centre did warn us that she was very timid, but also very affectionate given chance, we kind of expected this.
Thankfully she is making good progress, slowly gaining her confidence and importantly getting on well with Spike, our other cat. She even sits by the front door waiting for him to come home when he goes on one of his usual jaunts. She’s even starting to become his shadow!
In other news, work at Vagusnet.com is coming along nicely. There’s plenty of things in the works now that should get the site back to, and more importantly, beyond it’s former glory. The only sad thing about it is that the Ed has decided to vacate his post as Editor of the site, due to commitments at Uni and the resultant lack of time he feels he has to carry out the role to the best of his ability. Fortunately he’ll still be onboard for feature and review writing which is a great plus!
So, for the time being, I’m going to be filling in as Editor. I must admit, it is somewhat strange going back into the role again, but it also feels a lot like home in some respects. Whether I’ll be there permanently is anyones guess, but it’s not all about me, as the team we have is ready and raring to go and it’s their efforts and commitment that will push the place forward, and hopefully entice those of you who’ve never visited to go take a look. Just say I sent you
Finally, we’re just about to get some lawn down in the back garden at the new place. Doesn’t sound like much I know, but when you’ve just had all gravel before (what the fuck were the previous occupants thinking! It’s ruddy hideous!) it’s gonna to look much better with some greenery to look at. Of course that does also mean my wife will now start to go on a massive plant buying exercise. I can see me getting very dirty sorting out the plant beds soon!
That’s it from me for now. I’ll report back soon to update you all on any new goings on soon. Don’t forget to hop over to VN as well, get on the forums and say hi!
