Not quite sure where the time has gone since my last post here but there you go. No rest for the wicked, or something like that!
It’s been a funny old weekend this one. Got a call from one of my VN colleagues on Saturday telling me that I had an Xbox 360 secured for me at the GAME store on Oxford Street, London. Great news it was too after us all spending the last few months wondering if we were going to get one on launch.
However, I also have a preorder at a local GAME store (I don’t actually live in London in case you hadn’t guessed) which I was reliably informed on Sunday that there will be one for me there as well this Friday!
How ridiculous is this??
Despite the thought of buying a second 360 and selling it on ebay is a quite nice thought, the reality and cost of actually getting two doesn’t appeal much with it being Xmas and the whole house move thing. Plus I think I’m getting a cold, which is superb!
So, I’m just sticking with my local shop and nipping there after work as I booked half day holiday for Friday just for the release. Think that’s sad? That’s nowt compared to the week holidays I’ve heard reported from some people!
My only hope now is that the UK machines aren’t plagued by the same issues as encountered by our American cousins. Although I do think that whole thing has been blown out of propotion. Think about it; 500,000 machines were available on release to the USA. Number of reported faults don’t even notch the 1,000 mark! That is pretty good going if you ask me. Of course I doubt I’ll still be saying that if I get a faulty one, but I’ll cross that bridge as and when.
